Week 4 - Pg 201

Some of the simulations that I investigated at http://www.thinkport.org/Technology/simulations.tp were the History Wired, Student Materials, and Word Search Factory Lite. All of the simulations could be incorporated into teaching, but the two I think I would use the most are the History Wired, and the Word Search Factory Lite. I would incorporate the History Wired into a ton of different history lessons. This simulation has many different topics. I will be able to carry my students to the National Museum of American History by a simple click of a button. I can model the timeline on this site for my students and then let them create their own timeline.  When talking about communications I can log on and show students what Alexander Graham Bells Large Box telephone looked like, to compare with what we use today.  There are so many different ways to use this simulation. Another simulation I could incorporate into teaching would be the Word Search Factory Lite. I could create vocabulary worksheets to go along with spelling, or just simple vocabulary in reading, science of social studies. I would create word searches, and cross word puzzles that student would enjoy completing. It would be a fun way for students to learn their vocabulary.  I could also use this simulation to help make out tests for the students. This is a great website full of useful simulations.
